Pricing Questions

How much does car detailing cost in Ontario?

Car detailing in Ontario typically ranges from $60 to $300+ depending on the service and vehicle size. A basic exterior wash starts around $60 for a sedan, while a full interior and exterior detail runs $140 to $220 for a sedan. More specialized services like ceramic coating start at $400+, and paint correction starts at $200+. At Seefi Auto Detailing, our packages start at $120 for the Essential, $180 for the Complete, and $260 for the Showroom package — all sedan pricing. SUVs and trucks are priced slightly higher to reflect the additional surface area and time required. We believe in complete transparency: you receive a clear quote before any work begins, with no hidden fees or surprise charges added afterward.

Why does SUV detailing cost more than sedan detailing?

SUVs, trucks, and minivans simply require more time, more product, and more labor than a standard sedan. An SUV interior might have three rows of seating to shampoo versus two, more cargo space to clean, larger floor mats, more window surface area, and more exterior body panels to wash and polish. A full interior detail on an SUV typically takes 2.5 to 3.5 hours compared to 1.5 to 2 hours for a sedan. Our pricing reflects the actual work involved. We don't inflate sedan prices to hide the difference — we price honestly based on what each vehicle genuinely requires. When you call for a quote, tell us your vehicle make and model and we'll give you an accurate price upfront.

Services Questions

How long does a full car detail take in Ontario?

A full car detail — meaning a complete interior and exterior service — typically takes between 3 and 5 hours depending on vehicle size, condition, and the specific services included. A sedan in reasonably good condition can be fully detailed in 3 to 3.5 hours. A larger SUV or truck in average condition might take 4 to 5 hours. If the vehicle has heavy pet hair, deep carpet stains, or severe paint oxidation, add-on time may be needed. We'll give you an estimated time window when you book so you can plan your day. You don't need to be present — most clients just leave us the keys and come back to a showroom-clean vehicle.

What's the difference between car washing and car detailing?

A car wash — whether automated or a quick hand wash — focuses on removing surface-level dirt and road grime from the exterior. It typically takes 10 to 30 minutes and uses no special products or techniques. Car detailing is a comprehensive, meticulous cleaning and restoration process that goes far beyond a wash. Detailing involves deep cleaning every surface of the vehicle inside and out, using professional-grade products and tools: carpet extractors, clay bars, machine polishers, leather conditioners, and more. Detailing can take 2 to 5 hours and addresses everything from embedded interior odours to paint oxidation to brake dust on wheels. The result isn't just a clean car — it's a restored vehicle that looks and feels like new.

Is ceramic coating worth it in Ontario? How does it protect against road salt?

Ceramic coating is one of the best investments Ontario drivers can make for their vehicles. Ontario's winters are notoriously harsh on car paint — road salt, calcium chloride, and sand are applied to roads from October through March, and these chemicals are highly corrosive to clear coat and paint. A professional ceramic coating creates a semi-permanent hydrophobic barrier over your vehicle's paint that makes water, salt, and dirt bead off rather than bond to the surface. This dramatically reduces the amount of corrosive road salt that can attack your clear coat during winter. Beyond salt protection, ceramic coating also guards against UV fading, bird dropping etching, minor scratches, and environmental fallout. A proper ceramic coating lasts 2 to 5 years depending on the product. For an Ontario vehicle that faces salt every winter, it pays for itself in preserved paint condition and reduced cleaning time.

Can you remove pet hair from car seats?

Yes — pet hair removal is one of our most requested services, especially for dog owners across Ontario. Pet hair embeds itself deep into fabric fibers and carpet pile, making it notoriously difficult to remove with a regular vacuum. We use a combination of professional rubber tools, specialized pet hair removal attachments, and high-powered extraction equipment to thoroughly lift embedded hair from fabric seats, carpet, headliners, and cargo areas. Even heavily embedded dog or cat hair can be removed effectively. For vehicles with extremely heavy pet hair accumulation (think golden retriever owners), we may need additional time and will reflect this in the quote. If you book a full interior detail, pet hair removal is included as part of the service.

Do you detail electric vehicles (EVs)?

Absolutely. Electric vehicles like Tesla, Rivian, Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevrolet Equinox EV, and others require the same — and in some ways, more attentive — care as traditional combustion vehicles. EVs are often purchased as premium vehicles and their owners tend to care deeply about maintaining their appearance. Our detailing processes are fully compatible with all EVs. For engine bay cleaning on an EV, we use careful low-moisture techniques around electrical components, just as we would on any modern vehicle with sensitive electronics. We're experienced with Tesla's white vegan leather interior, which requires specific cleaning products to avoid yellowing or damage. If you have a specific EV model, let us know when you book and we'll confirm our process for your vehicle.

Our Monthly Complete plan at $180/month includes the full interior deep clean, leather conditioning, exterior wash and wax, and quarterly clay bar treatment. We accept cash, Interac e-Transfer (the preferred method for many Ontario clients), Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Payment is collected upon completion of service, after you've had a chance to inspect the results. For larger premium services like ceramic coating, paint correction, or fleet accounts, we may request a deposit at the time of booking to reserve your appointment slot. All prices are in Canadian Dollars. We do not accept USD or cryptocurrency. Products & Safety Questions

Are your products safe for children and pets?

We take product safety seriously, especially for families with young children and pets. Our standard detailing products — Chemical Guys, P&S Detail Products, and Meguiar's — are formulated for professional use and are safe once dry. For clients who specifically request child-safe or pet-safe cleaning, we offer our Child Safe Interior Clean service, which uses all-natural, non-toxic, plant-based cleaning agents with no harsh chemicals, synthetic fragrances, or harmful residues. These products are specifically selected to be safe for babies, toddlers, and pets who spend time in the vehicle. If you're concerned about specific ingredients or have sensitivities, let us know when you book and we'll confirm exactly what products we'll use for your service.

Can you detail a car with heavy smoke odour?

Yes — smoke odour removal is something we handle regularly for Ontario clients purchasing used vehicles, rental returns, or for smokers who want a fresh interior. Smoke odour is one of the most challenging types of odour to fully eliminate because the tar and nicotine compounds from cigarette or cannabis smoke penetrate deep into all porous surfaces — fabric, carpet, headliner, and even the HVAC system. Our odour elimination service uses a combination of enzyme-based cleaners that break down the odour-causing compounds at a molecular level, followed by ozone treatment which neutralizes remaining odour molecules throughout the entire cabin. For very heavy smoke odour, a second treatment may be recommended. We'll assess the severity and be transparent about what to expect.

How do you remove road salt from the undercarriage and exterior?

Road salt removal is one of the most important services for Ontario vehicles, given the massive amount of salt applied to our roads from October through April. For exterior salt removal, we use a combination of pressure washing and targeted chemical degreasers to dissolve calcium chloride and sodium chloride deposits from wheel wells, door sills, rocker panels, and the exterior paint surface. For undercarriage salt removal, we use undercarriage flush equipment that sprays water and degreaser across the full underside of the vehicle, targeting the frame, suspension components, exhaust, and floor pans where salt accumulates. This is critical for preventing rust, which can structurally weaken a vehicle over time. We recommend a proper salt removal and undercarriage flush in late fall before winter begins, and again in spring to remove the season's accumulation.

Locations Questions

What areas do you service in Ontario?

We serve a wide area of Southern Ontario from our base in Guelph. Our primary service area includes Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Hamilton, Burlington, Milton, Brampton, Oakville, Mississauga, and Toronto. We also serve Wellington County communities including Fergus, Elora, Rockwood, Acton, and Georgetown. In the Golden Horseshoe, we cover Stoney Creek, Ancaster, Dundas, Grimsby, and surrounding areas. Our coverage extends to Brantford, Woodstock, and communities along the Highway 401 corridor. For areas further from our Guelph base, a small travel supplement may apply — we'll always disclose this before you confirm your booking. If you're unsure whether we serve your area, just ask — our coverage area is always expanding.

Do you bring your own water and power to mobile detailing?

Yes — we are fully self-contained. Our mobile detailing setup includes our own water tank with sufficient capacity for a complete full detail, our own power inverter or generator for all electrical equipment, and all professional tools, products, and towels. You don't need to provide anything. We just need a safe, accessible place to park our vehicle near your car — typically your driveway works perfectly. The only exception is if you specifically want us to use your electrical outlet (some clients prefer this for generator noise reasons) — we're happy to accommodate that if you let us know.

Can you detail a car in winter in Ontario?

Yes — we detail vehicles year-round in Ontario, including during winter months. For outdoor mobile detailing in freezing temperatures, we take precautions to ensure quality results: water-based products like shampoos are mixed with additives to prevent freezing, we work quickly during cold spells to minimize exposure, and for very extreme cold (below -15°C), we may recommend rescheduling or working inside your heated garage if available. Heated garage access makes winter detailing ideal — if you have one, let us know when you book. Winter is actually one of the most important times to detail your vehicle, as road salt removal and protective wax or sealant application in fall before winter begins can prevent costly rust and paint damage from accumulating over the season.

About Seefi Questions

Is mobile car detailing worth it in Ontario?

Absolutely — mobile car detailing is one of the most convenient services available to Ontario car owners. Consider what a traditional detail shop requires: you drive your car to the shop, leave it for several hours or even a full day, arrange alternate transportation, then drive back to pick it up. Mobile detailing eliminates all of that friction. We come to wherever your car is parked — your home, your office, your apartment building's parking lot — and complete the full service while you go about your normal day. You don't lose any of your own time to the process. For busy Ontario families, professionals, and anyone who values their time, mobile detailing is genuinely one of the smartest investments in car care.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes — gift certificates are available and make an excellent gift for car enthusiasts, new vehicle owners, busy parents, or anyone who would love a professionally detailed car but might not think to book it themselves. Gift certificates are available for any dollar amount or for specific service packages (Essential, Complete, or Showroom). Contact us directly at info@seefiautodetailing.com or by phone to purchase a gift certificate. We'll send it to you digitally or, for an additional charge, printed in a gift envelope. Gift certificates are valid for one year from the date of purchase and can be used for any service we offer, with any remaining balance carried forward.
